Why Do You Cry at Home but Not in the Mall?
The same cut, the same pain — only the place is different. With this one scene, the Shaykh made it clear: control is possible.

The same cut, the same pain — only the place is different. With this one scene, the Shaykh made it clear: control is possible.
The Scene the Shaykh Described
A ruqyah session was underway. A sister was screaming loudly. After she stopped, she said — I just can't hold myself back.
The Shaykh said, suppose you cut your foot at home. You will cry, you will scream, you will lift your foot up, you will ask for ice — everyone will come running.
Now what if that very same cut happens in a shopping mall? Then you will say, "It's nothing, I'm fine." The embarrassment in front of people is what teaches you control.
What the Shaykh Clearly Stated
I am not saying the problem is psychological — I am saying control is possible. If it is possible in front of people, it is possible in front of Shaytan too.
And when you scream, they increase the pain and fear even more — because that is exactly what they want. The calmer you stay, the blunter their weapon becomes.
The Evidence — There Is No Reckoning for Sabr
إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى ٱلصَّٰبِرُونَ أَجْرَهُم بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ
Say, "O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allāh is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account [i.e., limit]." (Surah Az-Zumar 39:10 — Saheeh International; meaning of the complete verse)
The moment of ruqyah that is most unbearable — holding on through that very moment, gritting your teeth, is the sabr of this verse (ayah) — and there is no reckoning of its reward.
What to Do Today
- When a scream wants to come, grit your teeth and keep the dhikr going.
- Slow your breathing — breathe in through your nose, release slowly through your mouth.
- Do not stop the ruqyah just because the pain increases; if needed, lower your voice.
- Increased pain means it is working — it is not proof of anything to fear.

Treatment does not work while you carry despair in your heart
When you keep up your amal for month after month and still see no improvement, one thought builds up in the heart — it will never happen for me. The Shaykh says this very thought is the greatest obstacle.
So Much Hardship for a Single Match?
The boy could not even stand — yet for two months he has been losing weight, just for one match. The Shaykh's question: How much are we able to do for shifa?
No One Ever Kicks the Stove
The heat of the stove, the splash of oil, the cut of a knife — you put up with it all with a smile. From there the Shaykh said: where there is love, hardship does not feel like hardship.
