ruqyah

Even the lowest person in Jannah is a king

To understand Jannah, you must first set aside the measures of this world — because nothing there is like anything here.

To understand Jannah, you must first set aside the measures of this world — because nothing there is like anything here.

Where it differs from this world

  • There is no sun there, and no cold — there is light from the Most Merciful
  • There is nothing haram; whatever you ask for is yours, free of charge
  • There is no old age, no illness, no weariness — and no one will be annoyed either
  • Whatever the heart desires and the eyes delight in is all there

The Shaykh says — in the narration of Sahih Muslim, the last person to enter Jannah will be given the like of a worldly king's kingdom, and then ten times that.

The Shaykh's reply

The gap between two levels of Jannah is like the gap between the heavens and the earth — those below will see the people above like a distant star.

So the Shaykh says — Jannah is beyond imagination. Our thinking should not stay stuck at "it is enough just to get in"; there must also be effort to raise our level, and that rises through our amal in this world.

The evidence — what no eye has seen

Allah says — I have prepared for My righteous servants what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and what has never even occurred to the heart of any human being. (Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

The Shaykh says — every description we hear is only an attempt to bring it a little closer; the true reality of Jannah is beyond the reach of our imagination.

What to do

  1. At least once a day, make dua asking for Jannah — by name, by level.
  2. Do not try to measure Jannah by the calculations of this world — belief is what matters most.
  3. Do not give up small amal; levels are raised through these very deeds.
  4. On days of hardship, read the descriptions of Jannah — it will be easier to hold on to patience.
