Ruqyah

The Day That Turns Children Gray

Shaykh Bali goes through the names in the Qur'an one by one — Al-Qari'ah, Al-Waqi'ah, Al-Haqqah, At-Tammah, As-Sakhkhah. The names themselves are the description of that Day.

Shaykh Bali goes through the names in the Qur'an one by one — Al-Qari'ah, Al-Waqi'ah, Al-Haqqah, At-Tammah, As-Sakhkhah. The names themselves are the description of that Day.

What the Day Is Like

Why is it called Qiyamah? Because on that day the whole of creation will stand before the Lord of the worlds — on their feet, amid the crowd.

Allah has called this Day Al-Qari'ah, Al-Waqi'ah, Al-Haqqah, At-Tammatul Kubra, As-Sakhkhah — each name is one aspect of the Day.

On that day a person will flee from his brother, from his mother and father, from his wife and children — everyone's own condition will keep him fully occupied.

Some faces will be bright and smiling; other faces will be covered in dust and darkness. The difference is made today.

The Shaykh's Answer

The Day is hard — but easy for the believer, for whom Allah makes it easy.

The Shaykh says — in the intense heat and sweat, seven people will be in the shade of Allah, on the day when there is no shade except His shade. And for those who held fast to Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Al-Imran and put them into amal (practice), two clouds will move along shading them.

Evidence — The Shade of That Day

سَبْعَةٌ يُظِلُّهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي ظِلِّهِ يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلُّهُ

Allah will shelter seven categories of people in His shade on the day when there is no shade but His. (Sahih Bukhari 660, Sahih Muslim 1031)

A just ruler, a young man who grew up in worship, a person whose heart is attached to the mosque, two people who love each other for Allah's sake, a person who says "I fear Allah" when tempted, one who gives charity in secret, and a person whose eyes fill with tears when alone.

What to Do

  1. Be just with those under your authority — teachers, fathers, managers, everyone.
  2. Give in secret — let not your left hand know what your right hand gives.
  3. Sit alone and remember Allah, make istighfar — if the eyes fill with tears, let them.
  4. Build a relationship with Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Al-Imran — recite them, and put them into amal (practice).
