Whatever you plan — even if you only think it in your mind — it gets stuck? What happens easily for others falls apart for you? The Shaykh sees behind this a special class of jinn — the Marid.
Who Are the Marid?
The jinn also have classes and levels — the Qur'an and hadith mention various kinds. The Marid — a rebellious, powerful class — are mentioned directly in the Qur'an in Surah As-Saffat.
Do you know what their old occupation was? Istiraq as-sam' — stealing and listening to news of the heavens, and passing it on to the ears of magicians and fortune-tellers. After the Qur'an was revealed, that path was closed by the guarding of the meteors.
In the Shaykh's explanation — when this class settles upon someone (through magic, hasad (envy) or the evil eye, or out of its own envy), it starts up its old habit: this time not stealing the news of the heavens — but your news — Wallahu a'lam.
How Will You Know This Is the Problem?
- Your marriage talks are underway — it overhears, rushes off, and ruins them
- You are waiting for news of a job or a journey — it is spoiled before it even reaches you
- The moment people talk about you, it gets stuck; even when you only think it in your own head
- You used to be fortunate — now it is the opposite; and events happen again and again in the same pattern
The Shaykh's principle: "What happens repeatedly is established." This repetition itself is the proof of its presence — though everything is, of course, under Allah's command, Wallahu a'lam.
Treatment — the first 10 verses (ayat) of Surah As-Saffat
Why this Surah? Because it is here that Allah said the eavesdropping shayatin are chased away with a burning meteor. The verses that drove him away from the heavens will drive him away from your life too, in sha Allah.
- Every day in the morning, the first 10 verses — 10 times
- In the evening — 10 times — aloud; at the end, blow and wipe over as much of your body as you can
- If you can, after every salah — 1, 3, 7 or 10 times — as much as possible
Bonus — At Bedtime
The Shaykh added one more thing —
When you sleep, play an audio of Surah As-Saffat in the house — once, twice, or on repeat for 2-4 hours — the Shaykh says this is excellent too, in sha Allah.
While you sleep, his refuge will keep heating up — he will not be able to endure it, in sha Allah.
What Will You See Afterwards?
- The obstacles are lifting from your affairs — what used to be stuck is moving forward
- The last-minute upsets are decreasing
- People's sudden turning away, spreading of talk, and aversion — are fading, in sha Allah
When this filthy one departs, you will realize — your "bad luck" was never really the fault of fate; someone was standing in the way. Allah alone grants success.
