Why do some people succeed even in the midst of intense envy?

Hasad (envy) is real, the evil eye is real — but "envy always means destruction" is not true. The Qur'an's declaration: without Allah's permission, they cannot harm anyone. So where is the difference? In 6 secrets, in sha Allah.

Hasad (envy) is real, the evil eye is real — but "envy always means destruction" is not true. The Qur'an's declaration: without Allah's permission, they cannot harm anyone. So where is the difference? In 6 secrets, in sha Allah.

Secrets 1 – 3

  • 1. A strong relationship with Allah: The one who is bound to salah, adhkar, istighfar and recitation — the evil eye may touch him, but its effect is weak and temporary; he quickly gets past it
  • 2. Does not live in a circle of fear: When tired, "hasad"; when delayed, "hasad" — he is not caught in this cycle; because the fear of hasad is often more harmful than hasad itself
  • 3. Does not stop: A project stalled, a business fell behind — he tries a second, a third, a fourth time; others sit back after the first blow, assuming "all doors are closed"

The Shaykh's important note: "First finish the treatment, then get married / move forward" — this advice is wrong; rather, it makes hasad even stronger against you, and Allah knows best.

Secrets 4 – 6

  • 4. Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) and sadaqah (charity): Istighfar is the best key for opening doors; and how many people have had their wealth, family and provision under protection through a secret sadaqah — which no one but Allah even knows about
  • 5. Does not reveal everything: Not every success is meant to be shown, and not every blessing is meant to be announced; the wise have said — "Seek help in accomplishing your goals through secrecy"
  • 6. Allah has willed it: Hasad is merely a means — Allah's will is above all; whomever Allah wishes to provide for, no envier can prevent it

Surah Fatir, verse 2

Whatever Allāh grants to people of mercy - none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds - none can release it thereafter. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (Surah Faatir 35:2 — Saheeh International)

The door that Allah opens — all the enviers of the world together cannot close it. SubhanAllah!

Your To-Do List

  1. The morning and evening adhkar — every day.
  2. Surah Al-Falaq every day — if you can, repeatedly for half an hour.
  3. Much istighfar; and regular sadaqah, even if small.
  4. Do not publicize blessings, plans or projects — certainly not before they are settled.
  5. Tawakkul — not surrendering to fear; not stopping at the first obstacle.

The Shaykh's special final tip

This does not occur to many people —

Do not tell the story of a deal that fell through or a project that failed either.

"You know, this was about to happen to me..." — hearing this, someone may think "Oh, if only this opportunity had come to me!" — envy arises even over failed things.

What is gone is gone; the talk about it is over. Let us move toward new possibilities ahead, in sha Allah. Remember — protection is Allah's, victory is Allah's, and success is also Allah's.
