Shaykh Bali gives one piece of advice to everyone who hears such a claim — do not pay any attention to this nonsense. Because much of it is nothing but superstition.

Shaykh Bali gives one piece of advice to everyone who hears such a claim — do not pay any attention to this nonsense. Because much of it is nothing but superstition.

How the Claim Comes

Someone comes and says he knows about an old hoard of treasure. He says — there is a huge buried treasure beneath this house of yours.

He reassures you — I will not take a single penny from you, I will not take anything until it is brought out; once it comes out, I will take only a small share.

There is just one task — you must bring a certain bakhur, because supposedly it drives away jinn. And supposedly it is the jinn who have moved the wealth away.

Sleep flees. Tons and tons of gold swirl in the head, while thousands upon thousands of taka slip out of the pocket.

The Shaykh's Answer

Shaykh Bali says plainly — do not keep your mind busy with such things; much of it is nothing but superstition.

In his words, these are a band of swindlers, frauds and deceivers — their work is to take people's wealth unjustly. The path to wealth is different: abundant istighfar, maintaining family ties, taqwa, and sadaqah.

Evidence — The Shar'i Path to Prosperity

فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًۭا

And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. (Surah Nooh 71:10 — Saheeh International)

Taqwa is also mentioned in the Qur'an — Whoever fears Allah, Allah makes a way out for him and provides for him from where he never imagined. (Surah At-Talaq, verses 2-3)

What to Do

  1. “Treasure beneath the house” — do not listen to such talk; shake it off from your mind completely.
  2. When someone asks for money to buy bakhur or a ta'wiz, understand that his aim is your money.
  3. If you want provision, make abundant istighfar and mend family ties.
  4. Hold on to taqwa and give sadaqah, even if it is small — this is the shar'i path.
