The Amal of These Ten Days Is Most Beloved to Allah
Shaykh Bali places his finger on a single word — the Prophet ﷺ did not say "the best", he said "the most beloved". The difference is as great as the heavens and the earth.

The Scene
The ten days of Dhul Hijjah arrive, and they pass. We make every calculation for the Eid market, the cooking, the guests — only our amal never gets any calculation.
The Shaykh says that not a single moment of these days should slip from our hands. In one minute you can recite tasbih 60 times; each tasbih is ten rewards — in a single minute, 600.
So he speaks of spending even the minutes of our lifespan with careful accounting — especially in this first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.
The Salaf used to exert themselves so hard in worship during these ten days, so that they might be able to attain the love of Allah.
The Shaykh's Answer
Make a routine of faith for this ten days — this is the amal of those who love Allah.
A routine of recitation — at least one complete reading; a routine of qiyam al-layl; a routine of sadaqah, of family ties, of serving your parents; a routine of tasbih, takbir, tahlil and salawat upon the Prophet; a routine of calling others to good deeds.
And if you feel you cannot do anything at all — keep your tongue moving in the dhikr of Allah. The Shaykh says this is a great and easy act of worship.
The Evidence — Days Whose Deeds Are Beloved to Allah
مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ
There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days (the ten days of Dhul Hijjah). (Sahih Bukhari 969)
The Prophet ﷺ said — two phrases are light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, beloved to the Most Merciful: Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, Subhanallahil 'Azim. (Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
What to Do
- Write it down on paper today — how much recitation and how much qiyam in these ten days.
- Set aside some sadaqah every day, check on your relatives, and serve your parents.
- Move your tongue while walking and going about — tasbih, takbir, tahlil and salawat upon the Prophet.
- If you show someone the way to a good deed, you receive a reward equal to theirs — do not miss that either.
