Ruqyah Protocol
The Hasad and Oppression of Wahilaqa Shaytan
Ruqyah for protection from the harm of Shaytan's envy and torment

Introduction — who this protocol is for
Hasad is not born only from the hearts of people — Shaytan himself also harbors envy, and sometimes this very envy descends upon a person as long-lasting oppression and torment: a feeling of suffocation at night, unusual pain in the body, a new calamity right after every success. The Prophet ﷺ himself taught us to seek refuge from the harm of the envier — the clearest remedy for this is in Surah Al-Falaq. This protocol targets both Shaytan's hasad and his oppression: first seeking refuge, then the verses that break plots driven by hasad, and then the teaching to keep one's own heart free from envy.
Signs for which this protocol may help
- Feeling pressure on the chest when going to sleep at night, and difficulty moving
- Unusual calamity or loss right after some good news or success
- Long-lasting body pain for which no cause shows up in medical tests
- A constant feeling that someone is watching you or keeping you under pressure
- Repeatedly seeing scenes in dreams of being chased, attacked or held back
- Continuous mental and physical exhaustion, as if someone is draining your energy
- Obstacles coming one after another despite your efforts, stopping your progress
- Unusual reactions while listening to ruqyah — trembling, restlessness or feeling intense anger
Important note: Most of the signs above can also have ordinary physical or psychological causes. So first get the necessary medical tests and treatment. Ruqyah runs alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Do not conclude with certainty that someone is affected by sihr or jinn just because a sign matches.

Opening duas
Make wudu and sit facing the qiblah. Make the intention: through the Word of Allah, I am asking Allah alone for healing.
I begin in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on the earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Recite: 3 times
Nothing can cause sudden harm to the one who recites this dua in the morning and evening. (Tirmidhi 3388)
In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Meaning: Surah Al-Faatiha 1:1, Saheeh International.
Recite: 19 times
Before starting the ruqyah, settle your focus and your intention, then recite.
I seek refuge in the perfect Words of Allah from the evil of all that He has created.
Recite: 3 times
(Muslim 2708)
Direct verses against hasad
While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and wipe them over your body from the head downward.

And from the evil of an envier when he envies."

Intention: Seeking Allah's refuge from the harm of the envier's envy
Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves [even] after the truth has become clear to them. So pardon and overlook until Allāh delivers His command. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: The instruction of forgiveness and overlooking regarding those who want to cause harm out of envy
Or do they envy people for what Allāh has given them of His bounty? But We had already given the family of Abraham the Scripture and wisdom and conferred upon them a great kingdom.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: People feel envy when they see the favor Allah has given — seeking refuge while acknowledging this reality
Those who remained behind will say when you set out toward the war booty to take it, "Let us follow you." They wish to change the words of Allāh. Say, "Never will you follow us. Thus did Allāh say before." So they will say, "Rather, you envy us." But [in fact] they were not understanding except a little.
Recite: 3 times
Intention: Defense against people who raise accusations out of envy
Protection from plots and oppression driven by hasad
These two events show how hasad can go as far as oppression and murder — so recite them both as a warning and for protection.

Surah Al-Maaida 5:27-31
And recite to them the story of Adam's two sons, in truth, when they both made an offering [to Allāh], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], "I will surely kill you." Said [the former], "Indeed, Allāh only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him]. If you should raise your hand toward me to kill me - I shall not raise my hand toward you to kill you. Indeed, I fear Allāh, Lord of the worlds. Indeed, I want you to obtain [thereby] my sin and your sin so you will be among the companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers." And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers. Then Allāh sent a crow searching [i.e., scratching] in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. He said, "O woe to me! Have I failed to be like this crow and hide the disgrace [i.e., body] of my brother?" And he became of the regretful.

Intention: The story of Habil and Qabil — a warning of how envy can go as far as oppression and murder, with the intention of keeping your own heart free from envy
When they said, "Joseph and his brother are more beloved to our father than we, while we are a clan. Indeed, our father is in clear error. Kill Joseph or cast him out to [another] land; the countenance [i.e., attention] of your father will [then] be only for you, and you will be after that a righteous people." Said a speaker among them, "Do not kill Joseph but throw him into the bottom of the well; some travelers will pick him up - if you would do [something]."

Intention: Protection from, and a lesson in, the envy-driven plot and scheme of oppression by the brothers of Yusuf (peace be upon him)

Recite: 7 times
(Bukhari 5743)
📌 Self-ruqyah guideline
Consistency is the key. A little every day, but regularly.
Method — step by step
- Make wudu, then sit somewhere quiet facing the qiblah. Keep your phone away.
- Make the intention: I am asking Allah for healing through the Words of Allah; the Words have no power of their own — the power belongs to Allah.
- Recite the opening duas (Chapter 1).
- Then recite the verses (ayahs) in order. While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and pass your hands over the affected area.
- Recite each verse as many times as stated in the instruction box below it — there is no need to do more or less.
- In between, make dua wholeheartedly in your own language for 15 minutes. If tears come, do not hold them back.
- At the end, recite the closing surahs and duas, then blow lightly into the water.
- Continue every day for at least 40 days. If you miss some days, do not lose heart — simply start again.
Daily schedule
| Morning | After Fajr — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Evening | After Maghrib — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Night | Before sleeping — closing surahs and duas, drink recited-over water |
| Weekly | One ruqyah bath a week |
Your own dua in your own language (15 minutes)
During or after the recitation of the verses, ask Allah in your own language. Below is a sample — you do not have to read exactly this; say it in your own words.
O Allah, if any Shaytan or envious jinn has harbored hasad toward me and caused me hardship or oppression, make all of his plots fail and return his hasad into his own chest. Do not leave him any control over my body, my mind and my life. Cover me with the cloak of Your protection, and purify my own heart from envy as well.
Where to massage the recited-over oil
Focus for The Hasad and Oppression of Wahilaqa Shaytan: The crown of the head, neck, shoulders, chest and back
Supplements and weekly practices
| Recited-over water | Recite the ruqyah verses over a bottle of water and blow into it. Drink it 3 times a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, at midday, and at night before sleeping. |
| Recited-over honey | Blow into pure honey and take one spoonful every morning. It is good to recite verse 69 of Surah An-Nahl and then blow into it. |
| Recited-over olive oil | Recite the verses over olive oil, blow into it, and massage it into the affected area. It is best done at night before sleeping. |
| Black seed (nigella) | Every morning, take 7 black seeds with recited-over honey. The Prophet ﷺ said that black seed contains a cure for every disease except death. (Bukhari 5688) |
| Ruqyah bath | Recite the verses over a bucket of water and blow into it. You may also mix in seven crushed jujube leaves. Pour the water over yourself from the head down and bathe, once a week. |
| Spraying the home | Put recited-over water in a spray bottle and spray it in the corners of the house, on the doors and windows, and under the bed. |
Daily practices (amal)
Alongside ruqyah, it is these practices that give long-term protection.
| After Fajr | Surah Yasin 1 time |
| Morning and evening | The morning and evening adhkar from Hisnul Muslim, regularly |
| After Asr | Surah Al-Waqi'ah 1 time |
| At night | Surah Qaf 3 times, Surah Al-Mulk 1 time |
| Before sleeping | Ayat al-Kursi 1 time, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, and the three Quls 3 times each. Blow into your hands and wipe them over your whole body. |
| Every day | Give sadaqah as much as you can, every day, even if only a little. Sadaqah wards off calamity. |
| Every day | The obligatory salah in congregation, istighfar 100 times, salawat upon the Prophet 100 times |
Ruqyah is a Shariah-based method of treatment; it is not a substitute for necessary medical treatment.
