Specific verses and duas to neutralize, nullify and tear apart magic written on paper or in an amulet

Introduction — who this protocol is for
Sometimes magic is written on paper or cloth, tied in knots or made into an amulet, and then placed in a particular spot or put on a person's body. This kind of written magic is not neutralized merely by removing it or burning it. It is essential to make dua to Allah, through specific verses and duas, that the writing be erased, nullified and torn apart. Before directly touching or burning a suspicious paper, amulet or written object, recite this protocol.
Signs for which this protocol may help
- A suspicious paper or amulet has been found around the house, under the pillow or in the yard
- An amulet has been found on the body or sewn into clothing, and you suspect it is magic
- You want to neutralize an object with magic written on it before destroying or burning it
- You suspect written magic behind an illness, a separation in the family, a financial loss or mental unrest
Important note: Most of the signs above can also have ordinary physical or psychological causes. So first get the necessary medical tests and treatment. Ruqyah runs alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Do not conclude with certainty that someone is affected by sihr or jinn just because a sign matches.

Opening duas
Make wudu and sit facing the qiblah. Make the intention: through the Word of Allah, I am asking Allah alone for healing.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
I begin in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on the earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Recite: 3 times
Nothing can cause sudden harm to the one who recites this dua in the morning and evening. (Tirmidhi 3388)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Meaning: Surah Al-Faatiha 1:1, Saheeh International.
Recite: 19 times
Before starting the ruqyah, settle your focus and your intention, then recite.
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
I seek refuge in the perfect Words of Allah from the evil of all that He has created.
Recite: 3 times

Verses for destroying written magic
Recite aloud. You may recite with the suspicious paper, amulet or written object in front of you, or while directing your attention toward it.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ن ۚ وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ ۱ مَا أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ ۲
Nūn. By the pen and what they inscribe, You are not, [O Muḥammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: Neutralizing the writing of magic by an oath on the pen and what is written
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالطُّورِ ۱ وَكِتٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ ۲ فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ ۳
By the mount And [by] a Book inscribed In parchment spread open
Recite: 9 times
Intention: Rendering the writing of magic void by an oath on the written Book
Verses for nullifying magic and tearing the paper apart
Recite each verse the specified number of times. Recite with the intention that the magician's writing become completely torn apart and fruitless.
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَكْتُبُونَ الْكِتٰبَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هٰذَا مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ لِيَشْتَرُوا بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لَّهُم مِّمَّا كَتَبَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَوَيْلٌ لَّهُم مِّمَّا يَكْسِبُونَ ۷۹
So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allāh," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.
Recite: 6 times
Intention: Making the writing of magic fail by recalling the consequence Allah has declared for those who compose falsehood with their own hands
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ كِتٰبًا فِى قِرْطَاسٍ فَلَمَسُوهُ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ لَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ هٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ۷
And even if We had sent down to you, [O Muḥammad], a written scripture on a page and they touched it with their hands, the disbelievers would say, "This is not but obvious magic."
Recite: 6 times
Intention: That the paper written by the magician fail and become worthless as plain magic
فَلَمَّا أَلْقَوْا قَالَ مُوسَىٰ مَا جِئْتُم بِهِ السِّحْرُ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَيُبْطِلُهُۥ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُصْلِحُ عَمَلَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ ۸۱
And when they had thrown, Moses said, "What you have brought is [only] magic. Indeed, Allāh will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allāh does not amend the work of corrupters.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: That Allah nullify at once the magic the magician has brought
وَقَدِمْنَا إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُوا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنٰهُ هَبَاءً مَّنثُورًا ۲۳
And We will approach [i.e., regard] what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: A dua to turn the practice/writing composed by the magician into scattered specks of dust
فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا بٰعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ فَجَعَلْنٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقْنٰهُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذٰلِكَ لَءَايٰتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ ۱۹
But [insolently] they said, "Our Lord, lengthen the distance between our journeys," and wronged themselves, so We made them narrations and dispersed them in total dispersion. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
Recite: 4 times
Intention: Tearing completely apart the paper written by the magician and its effect
Verses of shifa (healing)
Recite with the intention of being healed from illness, sickness or restlessness of the heart caused by the effect of magic.

Surah Ash-Shu'araa 26:80
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ ۸۰
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me
Recite: 2 times
Intention: Remembering that in sickness Allah alone is the Healer
قٰتِلُوهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللَّهُ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِينَ ۱۴
Fight them; Allāh will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts [i.e., desires] of a believing people
Recite: 2 times
Intention: A dua for healing from restlessness of the heart and anxiety
وَلَوْ جَعَلْنٰهُ قُرْءَانًا أَعْجَمِيًّا لَّقَالُوا لَوْلَا فُصِّلَتْ ءَايٰتُهُۥ ۖ ءَا۬عْجَمِىٌّ وَعَرَبِىٌّ ۗ قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا هُدًى وَشِفَاءٌ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ فِى ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٌ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمًى ۚ أُولٰئِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ ۴۴
And if We had made it a foreign [i.e., non-Arabic] Qur’ān, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place.
Recite: 10 times
Intention: Praying for healing by accepting the Qur'an as guidance and shifa
Special duas — The Practice for Destroying Written Magic and Amulets
These duas are arranged specifically for this problem. Recite them after you finish the verses.
اللَّهُمَّ احْرِقْ كُلَّ سِحْرٍ مَكْتُوبٍ عَلَى جَسَدِي
O Allah! Burn away all the written magic on my body.
Recite: 7 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ يُبْطَلُ كُلُّ تَسَلُّطٍ عَلَى جَسَدِي
In the name of Allah — all control over my body is hereby nullified.
Recite: 7 times
اللَّهُمَّ بِقُوَّتِكَ وَقُدْرَتِكَ فُكَّ كُلَّ عُقْدَةٍ عُقِدَتْ عَلَى جَسَدِي
O Allah! By Your power and might, undo every knot tied on my body.
Recite: 7 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِكَلِمَاتِهِ التَّامَّةِ تُمْحَى كَلِمَةُ تَعْطِيلٍ كَتَبَهَا السَّاحِرُ وَالشَّيْطَانُ
In the name of Allah and by means of His perfect words, let the word 'obstruction' (ta'til) written by the magician and Shaytan be erased.
Recite: 7 times or more
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِكَلِمَاتِهِ تُمْحَى كَلِمَةُ مَرَضٍ كُتِبَتْ عَلَى الْوَرَقَةِ كَتَبَهَا السَّاحِرُ وَالشَّيْطَانُ
In the name of Allah and by means of His words, let the word 'disease/illness' written on paper by the magician and Shaytan be erased.
Recite: 5 times or more
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِكَلِمَاتِهِ تُمْحَى كَلِمَةُ تَفْرِيقٍ وَتَشْتِيتٍ بَيْنَ الْأَهْلِ وَالْعَائِلَةِ بَيْنَ الْأَزْوَاجِ بَيْنَ الْعَمَلِ وَالصِّحَّةِ بَيْنَ الْمَالِ وَالرِّزْقِ
In the name of Allah and by means of His words, let the word 'separation and estrangement' written by the magician and Shaytan — which has been written between family, husband and wife, work, health, and wealth and provision — be erased.
Recite: 6 times or more
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِكَلِمَاتِهِ تُمْحَى كَلِمَةُ مَوْتٍ كَتَبَهَا سَاحِرٌ وَشَيْطَانٌ
In the name of Allah and by means of His words, let the word 'death' written by the magician and Shaytan be erased.
Recite: 6 times or more
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِكَلِمَاتِهِ تُمْحَى كُلُّ كَلِمَةِ سَرَطَانٍ كَتَبَهَا السَّاحِرُ عَلَى وَرَقٍ كَتَبَهَا السَّاحِرُ بِالنَّجَاسَةِ كَتَبَهَا السَّاحِرُ بِالدَّمِ
In the name of Allah and by means of His words, let the word 'cancer', written on the magician's paper, written with filth, written with blood, be completely erased.
Recite: Several times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِكَلِمَاتِهِ تُمْحَى كَلِمَةُ جُنُونٍ وَوَسْوَاسٍ كَتَبَهَا السَّاحِرُ وَالشَّيْطَانُ
In the name of Allah and by means of His words, may the words 'madness and waswasa' written by the magician and Shaytan be erased.
Recite: 9 times or more
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَكَلِمَاتِهِ تُمْحَى كُلُّ كَلِمَاتِ السَّاحِرِ.. تُمَزَّقُ كُلُّ كَلِمَاتِ السَّاحِرِ.. يُمْحَى كُلُّ مَا كَتَبَهُ السَّاحِرُ
In the name of Allah and by means of His words, may all the words of the magician be erased... may all the words of the magician be torn to pieces... may everything the magician has written be erased.
Recite: 4 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تُمَزَّقُ كُلُّ الْأَوْرَاقِ الَّتِي كَتَبَهَا السَّاحِرُ
In the name of Allah, may all the papers written by the magician be torn to pieces.
Recite: 4 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ
In the name of Allah, in the name of Allah, in the name of Allah, in the name of Allah.
Recite: 3 times at the end
When you finish the whole protocol, conclude with this dua.
Closing surahs and duas
End every session this way. At the end, blow into water and drink it.

Surah Al-Ikhlaas 112:1-4
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ۱ اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ ۲ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ۳ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ ۴
Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One, Allāh, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
Recite: 3 times
Intention: Strengthening the heart by declaring tawhid
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ۱ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ۲ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ۳ وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفّٰثٰتِ فِى الْعُقَدِ ۴ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ۵
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak From the evil of that which He created And from the evil of darkness when it settles And from the evil of the blowers in knots And from the evil of an envier when he envies."
Recite: 7 times
Intention: Refuge from magic, hasad (envy) and the evil of the night
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ۱ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ۲ إِلٰهِ النَّاسِ ۳ مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ۴ الَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ۵ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ۶
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer - Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind - From among the jinn and mankind".
Recite: 7 times
Intention: Refuge from the waswasa (whispers) of mankind and jinn
أُعِيذُكَ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
I entrust you to the protection of the perfect Words of Allah from every Shaytan, every venomous creature and every harmful evil eye.
Recite: 3 times
The Prophet ﷺ used to recite this dua over Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them). (Bukhari 3371)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيكَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ أَوْ عَيْنِ حَاسِدٍ اللَّهُ يَشْفِيكَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ
In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah over you, from everything that harms you, from the evil of every soul and of the envier's eye. May Allah heal you. In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah over you.
Recite: 3 times
Jibril (peace be upon him) performed ruqyah over the Prophet ﷺ in this way. (Muslim 2186)
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
O Allah, Lord of mankind! Remove the hardship and grant healing. You are the Healer; there is no healing except Your healing — a healing that leaves no illness behind.
Recite: 7 times

📌 Self-ruqyah guideline
Consistency is the key. A little every day, but regularly.
Method — step by step
- Make wudu, then sit somewhere quiet facing the qiblah. Keep your phone away.
- Make the intention: I am asking Allah for healing through the Words of Allah; the Words have no power of their own — the power belongs to Allah.
- Recite the opening duas (Chapter 1).
- Then recite the verses (ayahs) in order. While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and pass your hands over the affected area.
- Recite each verse as many times as stated in the instruction box below it — there is no need to do more or less.
- In between, make dua wholeheartedly in your own language for 15 minutes. If tears come, do not hold them back.
- At the end, recite the closing surahs and duas, then blow lightly into the water.
- Continue every day for at least 40 days. If you miss some days, do not lose heart — simply start again.

During or after the recitation of the verses, ask Allah in your own language. Below is a sample — you do not have to read exactly this; say it in your own words.
O Allah, whatever magic has been written on paper or in an amulet, erase it and tear it to pieces. Free my body, my mind and my family completely from the effect of this magic.

Supplements and weekly practices
| Recited-over water | Recite the ruqyah verses over a bottle of water and blow into it. Drink it 3 times a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, at midday, and at night before sleeping. |

| Recited-over honey | Blow into pure honey and take one spoonful every morning. It is good to recite verse 69 of Surah An-Nahl and then blow into it. |

| Recited-over olive oil | Recite the verses over olive oil, blow into it, and massage it into the affected area. It is best done at night before sleeping. |

| Black seed (nigella) | Every morning, take 7 black seeds with recited-over honey. The Prophet ﷺ said that black seed contains a cure for every disease except death. (Bukhari 5688) |

| Ruqyah bath | Recite the verses over a bucket of water and blow into it. You may also mix in seven crushed jujube leaves. Pour the water over yourself from the head down and bathe, once a week. |

| Spraying the home | Put recited-over water in a spray bottle and spray it in the corners of the house, on the doors and windows, and under the bed. |

Alongside ruqyah, it is these practices that give long-term protection.
