Introduction — who this protocol is for

By the verses of Ihya is meant those verses of the Qur'an in which Allah the Most High repeatedly reminds us of His power to give life to the dead and to cause the living to die. For a critically ill patient — such as one in a deep coma, with brain death, with a complex and long-lasting illness like cancer, afflicted by magic done with intent to kill, or who has lost consciousness or the strength to move under the influence of a disobedient jinn — reciting these verses continuously is extremely beneficial. If the patient is well enough, they should recite them themselves. If they are unconscious or bedridden, a family member should recite while sitting beside them, or prepare recited-over water and oil with the patient's intention in mind. This is not a substitute for treatment; it must be done as a continuous amal alongside continuing medical treatment.

Signs for which this protocol may help

Important note: Most of the signs above can also have ordinary physical or psychological causes. So first get the necessary medical tests and treatment. Ruqyah runs alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Do not conclude with certainty that someone is affected by sihr or jinn just because a sign matches.
Translation of the meanings of the Qur'an: Saheeh International (via quran.com).

Opening duas

Make wudu and sit facing the qiblah. Make the intention: through the Word of Allah, I am asking Allah alone for healing.
I begin in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on the earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Recite: 3 times Nothing can cause sudden harm to the one who recites this dua in the morning and evening. (Tirmidhi 3388)
In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Meaning: Surah Al-Faatiha 1:1, Saheeh International.
Recite: 19 times Before starting the ruqyah, settle your focus and your intention, then recite.
I seek refuge in the perfect Words of Allah from the evil of all that He has created.
Recite: 3 times (Muslim 2708)

Verses of Ihya — The Life-Giving Verses

Sit beside the patient, or make the intention for them, and recite these verses continuously. If the patient is unconscious or bedridden, prepare recited-over water and olive oil and wipe or massage it onto their body. Each day, finish the list once over 15-30 minutes, and if needed, keep reciting again from the beginning.
1
Surah Al-Baqara 2:28
How can you disbelieve in Allāh when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned.
Recite: 1 time Intention: Remembering that Allah alone is the Owner of both death and life
2
Surah Al-Baqara 2:73
So We said, "Strike him [i.e., the slain man] with part of it." Thus does Allāh bring the dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you might reason.

3
Surah Al-Baqara 2:154

Recite: 1 time Intention: Remembering Allah's power to bring thousands of people, fearful of death, back to life all at once
5

Or [consider such an example] as the one who passed by a township which had fallen into ruin. He said, "How will Allāh bring this to life after its death?" So Allāh caused him to die for a hundred years; then He revived him. He said, "How long have you remained?" He [the man] said, "I have remained a day or part of a day." He said, "Rather, you have remained one hundred years. Look at your food and your drink; it has not changed with time. And look at your donkey; and We will make you a sign for the people. And look at the bones [of this donkey] - how We raise them and then We cover them with flesh." And when it became clear to him, he said, "I know that Allāh is over all things competent."

And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead." [Allāh] said, "Have you not believed?" He said, "Yes, but [I ask] only that my heart may be satisfied." [Allāh] said, "Take four birds and commit them to yourself. Then [after slaughtering them] put on each hill a portion of them; then call them - they will come [flying] to you in haste. Recite: 7 times (Bukhari 5743)

📌 Self-ruqyah guideline

Consistency is the key. A little every day, but regularly.

Method — step by step

  1. Make wudu, then sit somewhere quiet facing the qiblah. Keep your phone away.
  2. Make the intention: I am asking Allah for healing through the Words of Allah; the Words have no power of their own — the power belongs to Allah.
  3. Recite the opening duas (Chapter 1).
  4. Then recite the verses (ayahs) in order. While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and pass your hands over the affected area.
  5. Recite each verse as many times as stated in the instruction box below it — there is no need to do more or less.
  6. In between, make dua wholeheartedly in your own language for 15 minutes. If tears come, do not hold them back.
  7. At the end, recite the closing surahs and duas, then blow lightly into the water.
  8. Continue every day for at least 40 days. If you miss some days, do not lose heart — simply start again.

Daily schedule

MorningAfter Fajr — verse recitation, 15 minutes
EveningAfter Maghrib — verse recitation, 15 minutes
NightBefore sleeping — closing surahs and duas, drink recited-over water
WeeklyOne ruqyah bath a week

Your own dua in your own language (15 minutes)

During or after the recitation of the verses, ask Allah in your own language. Below is a sample — you do not have to read exactly this; say it in your own words.
O Allah, You who give life to the dead and death to the living — have mercy on this patient of Yours, and restore his consciousness, strength and health. And if his appointed time has come to an end, then grant him an easy and good death.

Where to massage the recited-over oil

Focus for Complex and Long-Lasting Illness: The whole body, especially the areas of pain/burning, the limbs that have become numb, and the places where hair has fallen out, and the scalp

Supplements and weekly practices
