Ruqyah Protocol
Tatil and the Magic of Sexual Incapacity
Ruqyah for sihr (magic) that obstructs marital intimacy and sexual ability

Introduction — who this protocol is for
The union of husband and wife is a great blessing from Allah and a Sunnah. When, despite no clear physical cause being found in medical tests, and despite desire and love being present, there is repeated failure in intimacy, or the body fails to respond only with one's own husband or wife — symptoms like these may sometimes point to a kind of sihr called "tatil". It is mentioned in the Qur'an itself that a kind of magic taught at Babylon was used to "cause separation between husband and wife" (Surah Al-Baqarah 102). The first thing is to be content with the qadar (divine decree) and to complete medical tests and examinations; then, if such an obstruction continues for a long time, this protocol is arranged around the verses for undoing that binding — it is not a substitute for treatment, but a supporting amal (practice).
Signs for which this protocol may help
- Being unable to consummate the marriage for a long time after the wedding, while medical tests find no clear cause
- The body not responding at the right moment despite desire and love
- This problem occurring only with one's own husband or wife, while being normal at other times or in other situations
- Suddenly feeling needless fear, discomfort or a mental barrier when attempting intimacy
- This problem beginning on the wedding night or within the first few months
- Feeling a pulling or heaviness in the lower abdomen or waist while listening to ruqyah
- Seeing scenes in sleep of knots, thread or something being tied
- Feeling unexplained distance, irritation or aversion within the relationship
Important note: Most of the signs above can also have ordinary physical or psychological causes. So first get the necessary medical tests and treatment. Ruqyah runs alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Do not conclude with certainty that someone is affected by sihr or jinn just because a sign matches.

The main verses for breaking magic
While reciting each verse (ayah), make the intention that Allah, by His own power, undo the binding of tatil that has been placed between the two of you.
And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Hārūt and Mārūt. But they [i.e., the two angels] do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allāh. And they [i.e., people] learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But they [i.e., the Children of Israel] certainly knew that whoever purchased it [i.e., magic] would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: Exposing the source of magic and the worthlessness of sihr that causes separation between husband and wife
2
Surah Al-A'raaf 7:117-118
And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: The staff of Musa (peace be upon him) swallowed up the false magic — the verse about falsehood having no foundation
3
Surah Al-A'raaf 7:119-120
And they [i.e., Pharaoh and his people] were overcome right there and became debased. And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allāh].
Recite: 7 times
Intention: The magicians were defeated and fell down in prostration — the scene of magic's defeat
And Pharaoh said, "Bring to me every learned magician." So when the magicians came, Moses said to them, "Throw down whatever you will throw." And when they had thrown, Moses said, "What you have brought is [only] magic. Indeed, Allāh will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allāh does not amend the work of corrupters.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: Allah brings the work of the magicians to nothing — the verse that the binding of tatil too will be nullified
Verses assuring success and tranquility
While reciting these verses, hold firm belief — however powerful magic may seem, it never succeeds without Allah's permission.
And Allāh will establish the truth by His words, even if the criminals dislike it."
Recite: 3 times
Intention: Allah establishes the truth by His words, even if the wrongdoers dislike it
They said, "O Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw." He said, "Rather, you throw." And suddenly their ropes and staffs seemed to him from their magic that they were moving [like snakes].
Recite: 7 times
Intention: Verse for relief from the effect of magic on the eyes and the mind
And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is."
Recite: 11 times
Intention: The magician does not succeed wherever he may be — this magic too will fail, in sha Allah
So the magicians fell down in prostration. They said, "We have believed in the Lord of Aaron and Moses."
Recite: 3 times
Intention: In the end the magicians too believed and fell in prostration — a verse of tranquility in the heart and repentance

📌 Self-ruqyah guideline
Consistency is the key. A little every day, but regularly.
Method — step by step
- Make wudu, then sit somewhere quiet facing the qiblah. Keep your phone away.
- Make the intention: I am asking Allah for healing through the Words of Allah; the Words have no power of their own — the power belongs to Allah.
- Recite the opening duas (Chapter 1).
- Then recite the verses (ayahs) in order. While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and pass your hands over the affected area.
- Recite each verse as many times as stated in the instruction box below it — there is no need to do more or less.
- In between, make dua wholeheartedly in your own language for 15 minutes. If tears come, do not hold them back.
- At the end, recite the closing surahs and duas, then blow lightly into the water.
- Continue every day for at least 40 days. If you miss some days, do not lose heart — simply start again.
Daily schedule
| Morning | After Fajr — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Evening | After Maghrib — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Night | Before sleeping — closing surahs and duas, drink recited-over water |
| Weekly | One ruqyah bath a week |
Your own dua in your own language (15 minutes)
During or after the recitation of the verses, ask Allah in your own language. Below is a sample — you do not have to read exactly this; say it in your own words.
O Allah, You know the true state of the hearts. If anyone has done any binding or magic between me and my partner, undo it by Your own power. Restore the love and closeness You placed between us, and let no whisper of Shaytan affect our relationship. You are the Master of hearts — the power to join together what anyone has wanted to sever belongs to You alone.
Where to massage the recited-over oil
Focus for Tatil and the Magic of Sexual Incapacity: The lower abdomen and the area below the waist
Supplements and weekly practices
| Recited-over water | Recite the ruqyah verses over a bottle of water and blow into it. Drink it 3 times a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, at midday, and at night before sleeping. |
| Recited-over honey | Blow into pure honey and take one spoonful every morning. It is good to recite verse 69 of Surah An-Nahl and then blow into it. |
| Recited-over olive oil | Recite the verses over olive oil, blow into it, and massage it into the affected area. It is best done at night before sleeping. |
| Black seed (nigella) | Every morning, take 7 black seeds with recited-over honey. The Prophet ﷺ said that black seed contains a cure for every disease except death. (Bukhari 5688) |
| Ruqyah bath | Recite the verses over a bucket of water and blow into it. You may also mix in seven crushed jujube leaves. Pour the water over yourself from the head down and bathe, once a week. |
| Spraying the home | Put recited-over water in a spray bottle and spray it in the corners of the house, on the doors and windows, and under the bed. |
Daily practices (amal)
Alongside ruqyah, it is these practices that give long-term protection.
| After Fajr | Surah Yasin 1 time |
| Morning and evening | The morning and evening adhkar from Hisnul Muslim, regularly |
| After Asr | Surah Al-Waqi'ah 1 time |
| At night | Surah Qaf 3 times, Surah Al-Mulk 1 time |
| Before sleeping | Ayat al-Kursi 1 time, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, and the three Quls 3 times each. Blow into your hands and wipe them over your whole body. |
| Every day | Give sadaqah as much as you can, every day, even if only a little. Sadaqah wards off calamity. |
| Every day | The obligatory salah in congregation, istighfar 100 times, salawat upon the Prophet 100 times |
Ruqyah is a Shariah-based method of treatment; it is not a substitute for necessary medical treatment.
