Introduction — who this protocol is for
Lack of focus in studies, weakened memory, sleep or fatigue coming over you as soon as you sit at your desk, or repeated failure in exams — magic is not always behind these. In most cases the cause is lack of habit, mental stress or a health problem. However, when these problems begin suddenly, intensely and inexplicably, and there is no improvement despite sufficient effort, the possibility of magic can also be taken into consideration. This protocol is for breaking the knots (sihr) placed upon studies, intellect and memory, and for bringing back lost concentration and success.
Signs for which this protocol may help
- Sleep or drowsiness coming over your eyes as soon as you sit at your desk, feeling intense fatigue for no reason
- Repeatedly forgetting what you have memorized, what you read not sinking into your mind
- Being unable to recall even answers you know during exams, failing repeatedly in the same subject
- Suddenly developing intense aversion or hatred toward studies, school or college
- Concentration being repeatedly scattered, being unable to maintain continuous focus
Important note: Most of the signs above can also have ordinary physical or psychological causes. So first get the necessary medical tests and treatment. Ruqyah runs alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Do not conclude with certainty that someone is affected by sihr or jinn just because a sign matches.

Opening duas
Make wudu and sit facing the qiblah. Make the intention: through the Word of Allah, I am asking Allah alone for healing.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
I begin in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on the earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Recite: 3 times
Nothing can cause sudden harm to the one who recites this dua in the morning and evening. (Tirmidhi 3388)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Meaning: Surah Al-Faatiha 1:1, Saheeh International.
Recite: 19 times
Before starting the ruqyah, settle your focus and your intention, then recite.
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
I seek refuge in the perfect Words of Allah from the evil of all that He has created.
Recite: 3 times

Verses for breaking obstacles and harmful influences
Recite aloud. If you feel discomfort in your body or tears come, do not stop — keep reciting.
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِى أَعْنٰقِهِمْ أَغْلٰلًا فَهِىَ إِلَى الْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ ۸
Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.
Recite: 6 times
Intention: The symbolic verse of the shackle around the neck — with the intention of breaking the obstacle placed upon studies
وَجَعَلْنَا مِن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّا فَأَغْشَيْنٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ ۹
And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see.
Recite: 1 time
Intention: The verse of removing the covering over the eyes — with the intention of bringing back understanding

Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:173
الَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمٰنًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ ۱۷۳
Those to whom people [i.e., hypocrites] said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allāh, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs."
Recite: 7 times
Intention: Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakil — a declaration that Allah alone is sufficient against the servants of magic and harmful influences
Verses for restoring intellect, memory and success
Recite with full attention — these are verses for bringing back lost intellect and the barakah of studying.
قَالَ خُذْهَا وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ سَنُعِيدُهَا سِيرَتَهَا الْأُولَىٰ ۲۱
[Allāh] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition.
Recite: 12 times
Intention: With the intention of restoring me to my previous state, that is, to my successful state before studies became difficult
لِيُنفِقْ ذُو سَعَةٍ مِّن سَعَتِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن قُدِرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقُهُۥ فَلْيُنفِقْ مِمَّا ءَاتَىٰهُ اللَّهُ ۚ لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا مَا ءَاتَىٰهَا ۚ سَيَجْعَلُ اللَّهُ بَعْدَ عُسْرٍ يُسْرًا ۷
Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth, and he whose provision is restricted - let him spend from what Allāh has given him. Allāh does not charge a soul except [according to] what He has given it. Allāh will bring about, after hardship, ease [i.e., relief].
Recite: 12 times
Intention: After hardship Allah will grant relief — a promise that obstacles will be removed and things made easy
وَمَا ءَاتَيْنٰهُم مِّن كُتُبٍ يَدْرُسُونَهَا ۖ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ مِن نَّذِيرٍ ۴۴
And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muḥammad], any warner.
Recite: 15 times
Intention: With the intention of removing obstacles from the path of study and learning

Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:79
مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ اللَّهُ الْكِتٰبَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا عِبَادًا لِّى مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلٰكِن كُونُوا رَبّٰنِيِّۦنَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ الْكِتٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ ۷۹
It is not for a human [prophet] that Allāh should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allāh," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied."
Recite: Several times
Intention: With the intention of bringing back the barakah of teaching and studying the Book
وَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ بَعَثَ لَكُمْ طَالُوتَ مَلِكًا ۚ قَالُوا أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ عَلَيْنَا وَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِالْمُلْكِ مِنْهُ وَلَمْ يُؤْتَ سَعَةً مِّنَ الْمَالِ ۚ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَىٰهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَزَادَهُۥ بَسْطَةً فِى الْعِلْمِ وَالْجِسْمِ ۖ وَاللَّهُ يُؤْتِى مُلْكَهُۥ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ وٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ ۲۴۷
And their prophet said to them, "Indeed, Allāh has sent to you Saul as a king." They said, "How can he have kingship over us while we are more worthy of kingship than him and he has not been given any measure of wealth?" He said, "Indeed, Allāh has chosen him over you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allāh gives His sovereignty to whom He wills. And Allāh is all-Encompassing [in favor] and Knowing."
Recite: 19 times
Intention: Allah grants abundance in knowledge — a verse for increasing intellect and understanding
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ن ۚ وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ ۱
Nūn. By the pen and what they inscribe,
Recite: 12 times
Intention: The oath by the pen and by writing — a verse for the barakah of study and learning
Special duas — Magic That Blocks Studying
These duas are arranged specifically for this problem. Recite them after you finish the verses.
اللَّهُمَّ احْرِقْ كُلَّ سِحْرٍ عَلَى دِرَاسَتِي
O Allah! Burn away all the magic in my studies.
Recite: 7 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ يُبْطَلُ كُلُّ تَسَلُّطٍ عَلَى دِرَاسَتِي
In the name of Allah — all control over my studies is hereby nullified.
Recite: 7 times
اللَّهُمَّ بِقُوَّتِكَ وَقُدْرَتِكَ فُكَّ كُلَّ عُقْدَةٍ عُقِدَتْ عَلَى دِرَاسَتِي
O Allah! By Your strength and power, undo every knot tied upon my studies.
Recite: 7 times
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ عَلَى كُلِّ عُقْدَةٍ كَبِيرَةٍ عَقَدُوهَا عَلَى الدِّرَاسَةِ
Allah is the Greatest, over every one of the great knots (magic) they have tied upon studies.
Recite: 11 times
حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ تَسَلَّطَ عَلَى الدِّرَاسَةِ
Allah alone is sufficient for us against every Shaytan who exerts influence over studies.
Recite: 7 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ عَلَى كُلِّ عَطَّلَ مَا عَطَّلَ دِرَاسَةً
In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, over everything that has obstructed studies.
Recite: 12 times
حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ خَادِمِ سِحْرٍ سَبَّبَ النَّوْمَ مَعَ الدِّرَاسَةِ
Allah alone is sufficient for us against every servant of magic that causes sleep during study time.
Recite: 4 times
حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ خَادِمِ سِحْرٍ سَبَّبَ النُّعَاسَ مَعَ الدِّرَاسَةِ
Allah alone is sufficient for us against every servant of magic that causes drowsiness during study time.
Recite: 2 times
حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ خَادِمِ حَسَدٍ سَبَّبَ النَّوْمَ مَعَ الدِّرَاسَةِ
Allah alone is sufficient for us against every servant of hasad (the evil eye or envy) that causes sleep during study time.
Recite: Several times
حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ خَادِمِ عَيْنٍ سَبَّبَ النَّوْمَ وَالنُّعَاسَ مَعَ الدِّرَاسَةِ
Allah alone is sufficient for us against every servant of the evil eye that causes sleep and drowsiness during study.
Recite: Several times
In the original source, this sentence began with the phrase 'Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakil' (3:173). It has been added above as a separate verse card, and the rest of the sentence is kept here.
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ عَلَى كُلِّ عُقْدَةٍ كَبِيرَةٍ لِلنِّسْيَانِ مَعْقُودَةٍ تُفَكُّ بِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ
Allah is the Greatest. Over every big knot tied to cause forgetfulness, by Allah's command it is being undone.
Recite: 7 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تُحَلُّ كُلُّ عُقْدَةٍ لِلشَّتَاتِ وَضَعْفِ التَّرْكِيزِ
In the name of Allah, every knot tied for inattentiveness and weak concentration is being undone.
Recite: 10 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تُحَلُّ كُلُّ عُقْدَةٍ عَقَدُوهَا لِوَقْفِ الْحَالِ
In the name of Allah, every knot they have tied to hold back progress or advancement is being undone.
Recite: 3 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تُبْطَلُ أَسْحَارُ الْفَشَلِ
In the name of Allah, all the magic of failure is being nullified.
Recite: 8 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَى الدِّمَاغِ وَالْعَقْلِ وَالذَّكَاءِ
In the name of Allah, over the brain, knowledge and intelligence, whatever Allah wills is what happens.
Recite: 10 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِي الدِّمَاغَ مِنْ كُلِّ مَا شَتَّتَهُ
In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah over the brain, against everything that has scattered it or made it inattentive.
Recite: 8 times
افْتَحْ يَا رَبِّ كُلَّ مَا أَغْلَقَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ
O my Lord! Open whatever Shaytan has closed.
Recite: 9 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تُفْتَحُ الْأَقْفَالُ
In the name of Allah, all the locks are being opened.
Recite: 9 times
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ تُفَكُّ كُلُّ عُقْدَةٍ عَقَدُوهَا لِكُرْهِ الدِّرَاسَةِ لِكُرْهِ الْمَدْرَسَةِ وَالْجَامِعَةِ
Allah is the Greatest. Every knot they have tied to create hatred toward study, school and university is being undone.
Recite: 8 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تُحَلُّ كُلُّ عُقْدَةٍ عَقَدُوهَا عَلَى الْمَعْلُومَةِ وَالْأَفْكَارِ، عَقَدُوهَا عَلَى الْفَهْمِ، عَقَدُوهَا عَلَى الْحِفْظِ، تُفَكُّ بِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ
In the name of Allah, every knot they have tied on information and thinking, every knot they have tied on the ability to understand, every knot they have tied on memorization, all are being undone by Allah's command.
Recite: 6 times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ يُسْحَبُ الْأَذَى يُسْحَبُ يُسْحَبُ يُسْحَبُ بِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ يُسْحَبُ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ يُسْحَبُ وَيَخْرُجُ طَاعَةً لِلَّهِ
In the name of Allah, all harm is being pulled out; by Allah's command it is being pulled out of the head, and it is coming out in obedience to Allah.
Recite: Several times
أَقْسَمْتُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ خَادِمِ السِّحْرِ أَوْ حَسَدٍ أَوْ عَيْنٍ شَتَّتَ الذِّهْنَ وَأَصَابَ الْعَقْلَ بِالنِّسْيَانِ وَعَطَّلَ الدِّرَاسَةَ وَأَصَابَ الْإِنْسَانَ بِالْفَشَلِ، يُسْحَبُ الْآنَ مِنْ هَذَا الْجَسَدِ وَيَخْرُجُ طَاعَةً لِلَّهِ
I swear by Allah, the Mighty, the Powerful, and I command every Shaytan, servant of magic, or hasad (envy) and evil eye, that which has scattered concentration, afflicted the brain with forgetfulness, obstructed study and caused people to fall into failure: let it be pulled out of this body right now, and let it leave in obedience to Allah.
Recite: 1 time
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ يُنَظَّفُ هَذَا الْجِسْمُ مِنْ كُلِّ أَذًى عَلَى الدِّرَاسَةِ مِنْ كُلِّ سِحْرٍ لِلْفَشَلِ مِنْ كُلِّ حَسَدٍ لِلْفَشَلِ مِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لِلْفَشَلِ، مِنْ هَذَا الْجَسَدِ يُسْحَبُ الْأَذَى بِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ، يُسْحَبُ الْأَذَى مِنْ هَذَا الْجَسَدِ وَيَخْرُجُ طَاعَةً لِلَّهِ
In the name of Allah, this body is being cleansed of all the harm placed on study. From all the magic of failure, all the hasad of failure and all the evil eye of failure. By Allah's command all harm is being pulled out of this body, and it is leaving in obedience to Allah.
Recite: 1 time
Closing surahs and duas
End every session this way. At the end, blow into water and drink it.

Surah Al-Ikhlaas 112:1-4
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ۱ اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ ۲ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ۳ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ ۴
Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One, Allāh, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
Recite: 3 times
Intention: Strengthening the heart by declaring tawhid
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ۱ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ۲ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ۳ وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفّٰثٰتِ فِى الْعُقَدِ ۴ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ۵
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak From the evil of that which He created And from the evil of darkness when it settles And from the evil of the blowers in knots And from the evil of an envier when he envies."
Recite: 7 times
Intention: Refuge from magic, hasad (envy) and the evil of the night
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ۱ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ۲ إِلٰهِ النَّاسِ ۳ مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ۴ الَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ۵ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ۶
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer - Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind - From among the jinn and mankind".
Recite: 7 times
Intention: Refuge from the waswasa (whispers) of mankind and jinn
أُعِيذُكَ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
I entrust you to the protection of the perfect Words of Allah from every Shaytan, every venomous creature and every harmful evil eye.
Recite: 3 times
The Prophet ﷺ used to recite this dua over Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them). (Bukhari 3371)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيكَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ أَوْ عَيْنِ حَاسِدٍ اللَّهُ يَشْفِيكَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ
In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah over you, from everything that harms you, from the evil of every soul and of the envier's eye. May Allah heal you. In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah over you.
Recite: 3 times
Jibril (peace be upon him) performed ruqyah over the Prophet ﷺ in this way. (Muslim 2186)
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
O Allah, Lord of mankind! Remove the hardship and grant healing. You are the Healer; there is no healing except Your healing — a healing that leaves no illness behind.
Recite: 7 times

📌 Self-ruqyah guideline
Consistency is the key. A little every day, but regularly.
Method — step by step
- Make wudu, then sit somewhere quiet facing the qiblah. Keep your phone away.
- Make the intention: I am asking Allah for healing through the Words of Allah; the Words have no power of their own — the power belongs to Allah.
- Recite the opening duas (Chapter 1).
- Then recite the verses (ayahs) in order. While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and pass your hands over the affected area.
- Recite each verse as many times as stated in the instruction box below it — there is no need to do more or less.
- In between, make dua wholeheartedly in your own language for 15 minutes. If tears come, do not hold them back.
- At the end, recite the closing surahs and duas, then blow lightly into the water.
- Continue every day for at least 40 days. If you miss some days, do not lose heart — simply start again.

During or after the recitation of the verses, ask Allah in your own language. Below is a sample — you do not have to read exactly this; say it in your own words.
O Allah, destroy all the evil eye, hasad, sihr, jinn, and all their effects, inside and outside the body, that are connected with inattentiveness in my studies, failure in my academic life, loss of memory, and excessive sleep or fatigue during study.

Supplements and weekly practices
| Recited-over water | Recite the ruqyah verses over a bottle of water and blow into it. Drink it 3 times a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, at midday, and at night before sleeping. |

| Recited-over honey | Blow into pure honey and take one spoonful every morning. It is good to recite verse 69 of Surah An-Nahl and then blow into it. |

| Recited-over olive oil | Recite the verses over olive oil, blow into it, and massage it into the affected area. It is best done at night before sleeping. |

| Black seed (nigella) | Every morning, take 7 black seeds with recited-over honey. The Prophet ﷺ said that black seed contains a cure for every disease except death. (Bukhari 5688) |

| Ruqyah bath | Recite the verses over a bucket of water and blow into it. You may also mix in seven crushed jujube leaves. Pour the water over yourself from the head down and bathe, once a week. |

| Spraying the home | Put recited-over water in a spray bottle and spray it in the corners of the house, on the doors and windows, and under the bed. |

Alongside ruqyah, it is these practices that give long-term protection.

Ruqyah is a Shariah-based method of treatment; it is not a substitute for necessary medical treatment.
