Ruqyah Protocol
Death-Intent Magic
Signs of sihr (magic) done with the intention of killing, and the ruqyah protocol

Introduction — who this protocol is for
The Qur'an itself acknowledges that someone can be killed directly through sihr — in Surah Al-Baqarah it is said that through the magic taught by Harut and Marut, people could cause even separation between husband and wife, yet without Allah's permission it was never possible to cause anyone any real harm with it. Magic done with the intention of killing is rare, but real — and the most important point about it is this: the only Owner of life and death is Allah, not any magic or magician; death comes only at its appointed time. So this protocol first asks you to complete all medical tests, and then, if unexplained rapid deterioration or a fear of death is accompanied by other signs of sihr, you may begin ruqyah with these verses (ayahs).
Signs for which this protocol may help
- Unexplained physical weakness for a long time, or a feeling that your body is breaking down — even though all medical reports are normal
- Repeatedly seeing death, graves, funeral prayers or burial shrouds in sleep
- Pressure on the chest, a feeling of suffocation, or the body suddenly going numb while listening to ruqyah
- Sudden intense panic, or an unknown fear of death, repeatedly gripping the mind
- Loss of appetite and rapid weight loss, without any clear medical cause
- Health suddenly breaking down after a particular enmity, property dispute or incident of envy
- A continuous pattern of unusual, unexplained illness among family or close people
Important note: Most of the signs above can also have ordinary physical or psychological causes. So first get the necessary medical tests and treatment. Ruqyah runs alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Do not conclude with certainty that someone is affected by sihr or jinn just because a sign matches.

Opening duas
Make wudu and sit facing the qiblah. Make the intention: through the Word of Allah, I am asking Allah alone for healing.
I begin in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on the earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Nothing can cause sudden harm to the one who recites this dua in the morning and evening. (Tirmidhi 3388)
In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Meaning: Surah Al-Faatiha 1:1, Saheeh International.

Before starting the ruqyah, settle your focus and your intention, then recite.
I seek refuge in the perfect Words of Allah from the evil of all that He has created.

(Muslim 2708)
Magic cannot harm anyone without Allah's permission
Recite each verse (ayah), blow lightly into both palms, and wipe them over your whole body.
And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Hārūt and Mārūt. But they [i.e., the two angels] do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allāh. And they [i.e., people] learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But they [i.e., the Children of Israel] certainly knew that whoever purchased it [i.e., magic] would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: The true nature of sihr and its limits — without Allah's permission it is not possible to harm anyone with it
And if Allāh should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him. And if He touches you with good - then He is over all things competent.
Recite: 3 times
Intention: Allah is the only One who removes hardship
And if it was not for the favor of Allāh upon you, [O Muḥammad], and His mercy, a group of them would have determined to mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they will not harm you at all. And Allāh has revealed to you the Book and wisdom and has taught you that which you did not know. And ever has the favor of Allāh upon you been great.
Recite: 3 times
Intention: No one has the power to cause real harm, except by Allah's will to withdraw His protection
Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."
Recite: 3 times
Intention: Even the Prophet ﷺ does not own the power to harm — only Allah does
Protection from the plots of those who wish harm
While reciting, place your hand on your chest and feel firmness in your heart.

Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:120
If good touches you, it distresses them; but if harm strikes you, they rejoice at it. And if you are patient and fear Allāh, their plot will not harm you at all. Indeed, Allāh is encompassing of what they do.
Recite: 3 times
Intention: With patience and taqwa, the enemy's plot cannot cause any harm
He invokes instead of Allāh that which neither harms him nor benefits him. That is what is the extreme error. He invokes one whose harm is closer than his benefit - how wretched the protector and how wretched the associate.
Recite: 3 times
Intention: Whoever is called upon besides Allah can do neither harm nor benefit
Life and death are only in Allah's hand — verses on qadar (divine decree)
Recite these verses (ayahs), place your hand on your chest and steady your heart; do not panic.

Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:154
Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of] drowsiness, overcoming a faction of you, while another faction worried about themselves, thinking of Allāh other than the truth - the thought of ignorance, saying, "Is there anything for us [to have done] in this matter?" Say, "Indeed, the matter belongs completely to Allāh." They conceal within themselves what they will not reveal to you. They say, "If there was anything we could have done in the matter, we [i.e., some of us] would not have been killed right here." Say, "Even if you had been inside your houses, those decreed to be killed would have come out to their death beds." [It was] so that Allāh might test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts. And Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.
Recite: 3 times
Intention: Death comes only at the appointed place and time; no plot can bring it earlier
And do not kill the soul [i.e., person] which Allāh has forbidden, except by right. And whoever is killed unjustly - We have given his heir authority, but let him not exceed limits in [the matter of] taking life. Indeed, he has been supported [by the law].
Recite: 3 times
Intention: Trying to kill someone unjustly is a grave crime before Allah — the victim is helped
Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And Our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.

Intention: The heart is strengthened by realizing how terrible a crime it is to attempt to destroy one innocent life

The Prophet ﷺ used to recite this dua over Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them). (Bukhari 3371)

Jibril (peace be upon him) performed ruqyah over the Prophet ﷺ in this way. (Muslim 2186)
O Allah, Lord of mankind! Remove the hardship and grant healing. You are the Healer; there is no healing except Your healing — a healing that leaves no illness behind.

(Bukhari 5743)
📌 Self-ruqyah guideline
Consistency is the key. A little every day, but regularly.
Method — step by step
- Make wudu, then sit somewhere quiet facing the qiblah. Keep your phone away.
- Make the intention: I am asking Allah for healing through the Words of Allah; the Words have no power of their own — the power belongs to Allah.
- Recite the opening duas (Chapter 1).
- Then recite the verses (ayahs) in order. While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and pass your hands over the affected area.
- Recite each verse as many times as stated in the instruction box below it — there is no need to do more or less.
- In between, make dua wholeheartedly in your own language for 15 minutes. If tears come, do not hold them back.
- At the end, recite the closing surahs and duas, then blow lightly into the water.
- Continue every day for at least 40 days. If you miss some days, do not lose heart — simply start again.
Daily schedule
| Morning | After Fajr — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Evening | After Maghrib — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Night | Before sleeping — closing surahs and duas, drink recited-over water |
| Weekly | One ruqyah bath a week |
Your own dua in your own language (15 minutes)
During or after the recitation of the verses, ask Allah in your own language. Below is a sample — you do not have to read exactly this; say it in your own words.
O Allah, You know what fear has settled in my heart. Besides You, there is no one else who owns my life and death. If anyone has intended to harm me, make all their plots fail. Lengthen my life, remove this fear from my heart, and keep me in Your protection.
Where to massage the recited-over oil
Focus for Death-Intent Magic: Gentle massage over the whole body, especially with firmness on the chest and forehead
Supplements and weekly practices
| Recited-over water | Recite the ruqyah verses over a bottle of water and blow into it. Drink it 3 times a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, at midday, and at night before sleeping. |
| Recited-over honey | Blow into pure honey and take one spoonful every morning. It is good to recite verse 69 of Surah An-Nahl and then blow into it. |
| Recited-over olive oil | Recite the verses over olive oil, blow into it, and massage it into the affected area. It is best done at night before sleeping. |
| Black seed (nigella) | Every morning, take 7 black seeds with recited-over honey. The Prophet ﷺ said that black seed contains a cure for every disease except death. (Bukhari 5688) |
| Ruqyah bath | Recite the verses over a bucket of water and blow into it. You may also mix in seven crushed jujube leaves. Pour the water over yourself from the head down and bathe, once a week. |
| Spraying the home | Put recited-over water in a spray bottle and spray it in the corners of the house, on the doors and windows, and under the bed. |
Daily practices (amal)
Alongside ruqyah, it is these practices that give long-term protection.
| After Fajr | Surah Yasin 1 time |
| Morning and evening | The morning and evening adhkar from Hisnul Muslim, regularly |
| After Asr | Surah Al-Waqi'ah 1 time |
| At night | Surah Qaf 3 times, Surah Al-Mulk 1 time |
| Before sleeping | Ayat al-Kursi 1 time, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, and the three Quls 3 times each. Blow into your hands and wipe them over your whole body. |
| Every day | Give sadaqah as much as you can, every day, even if only a little. Sadaqah wards off calamity. |
| Every day | The obligatory salah in congregation, istighfar 100 times, salawat upon the Prophet 100 times |
Ruqyah is a Shariah-based method of treatment; it is not a substitute for necessary medical treatment.
