Introduction — who this protocol is for

You don't feel like standing for salah, you fall asleep when you pick up the Qur'an, your heart is not drawn to good deeds — many people think this is just laziness. But the Qur'an tells us that the heart too can become hard and can rust. And Shaytan's biggest work is to keep people away from worship. This protocol is arranged around verses that soften the heart and the amal of repentance.

Signs for which this protocol may help

Important note: Most of the signs above can also have ordinary physical or psychological causes. So first get the necessary medical tests and treatment. Ruqyah runs alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Do not conclude with certainty that someone is affected by sihr or jinn just because a sign matches.
Translation of the meanings of the Qur'an: Saheeh International (via quran.com).

Opening duas

Make wudu and sit facing the qiblah. Make the intention: through the Word of Allah, I am asking Allah alone for healing.
I begin in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on the earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Recite: 3 times Nothing can cause sudden harm to the one who recites this dua in the morning and evening. (Tirmidhi 3388)
In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Meaning: Surah Al-Faatiha 1:1, Saheeh International.
Recite: 19 times Before starting the ruqyah, settle your focus and your intention, then recite.
I seek refuge in the perfect Words of Allah from the evil of all that He has created.
Recite: 3 times (Muslim 2708)

Verses that soften the heart

Recite slowly, trying to understand the meaning. If tears come, do not hold them back.
1
Surah Al-Hadid 57:16
Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allāh and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient.
Recite: 11 times Intention: Has the time not come for the hearts of the believers to be humbled at the remembrance of Allah?
2
Surah Az-Zumar 39:22-23
So is one whose breast Allāh has expanded to [accept] Islām and he is upon [i.e., guided by] a light from his Lord [like one whose heart rejects it]? Then woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allāh. Those are in manifest error. Allāh has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance [i.e., mention] of Allāh. That is the guidance of Allāh by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allāh sends astray - for him there is no guide.
Recite: 11 times Intention: Skin and heart softening on hearing the Qur'an
3
Surah Al-Anfaal 8:2-4
The believers are only those who, when Allāh is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely - The ones who establish prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend. Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees [of high position] with their Lord and forgiveness and noble provision.
Recite: 7 times Intention: The heart trembles when the name of Allah is mentioned
4
Surah Qaaf 50:37
Indeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind].
Recite: 7 times Intention: In this is a reminder for whoever has a heart
5
Surah Al-Baqara 2:74
Then your hearts became hardened after that, being like stones or even harder. For indeed, there are stones from which rivers burst forth, and there are some of them that split open and water comes out, and there are some of them that fall down for fear of Allāh. And Allāh is not unaware of what you do.
Recite: 7 times Intention: Refuge from a heart harder than stone
6
Surah Al-Mutaffifin 83:14
No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.
Recite: 7 times Intention: Rust forms on the heart because of sin

Verses for steadfastness in salah and worship

Before every salah, recite at least one verse (ayah) and then stand to pray.
7
Surah Ibrahim 14:40

Indeed, I am Allāh. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.
Recite: 11 times Intention: Establish salah for My remembrance
9
Surah Al-Ankaboot 29:45
Recite, [O Muḥammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allāh is greater. And Allāh knows that which you do.
Recite: 7 times Intention: Salah restrains from indecency and wrongdoing
10
Surah Al-Muminoon 23:1-2

Recite: 7 times Intention: Successful are the believers who are humble in their salah
11
Surah Al-Ma'aarij 70:22-23
Except the observers of prayer - Those who are constant in their prayer
Recite: 7 times Intention: Those who are constant in their salah

Overcoming Shaytan's obstruction and waswasa (whispers)

Keeping people away from worship is Shaytan's main work. Do not skip this chapter.
12
Surah Al-Jinn 72:1-9
Say, [O Muḥammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur’ān [i.e., recitation]. It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son And that our foolish one [i.e., Iblees] has been saying about Allāh an excessive transgression. And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allāh a lie. And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden [i.e., sin]. And they had thought, as you thought, that Allāh would never send anyone [as a messenger]. And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him.
Recite: 3 times Intention: The jinn's admission and their limitations
13

By those [angels] lined up in rows And those who drive [the clouds] And those who recite the message, Indeed, your God is One, Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars And as protection against every rebellious devil [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness].

O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allāh]. So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves. So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

O Allah, Lord of mankind! Remove the hardship and grant healing. You are the Healer; there is no healing except Your healing — a healing that leaves no illness behind.
Recite: 7 times (Bukhari 5743)

📌 Self-ruqyah guideline

Consistency is the key. A little every day, but regularly.

Method — step by step

  1. Make wudu, then sit somewhere quiet facing the qiblah. Keep your phone away.
  2. Make the intention: I am asking Allah for healing through the Words of Allah; the Words have no power of their own — the power belongs to Allah.
  3. Recite the opening duas (Chapter 1).
  4. Then recite the verses (ayahs) in order. While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and pass your hands over the affected area.
  5. Recite each verse as many times as stated in the instruction box below it — there is no need to do more or less.
  6. In between, make dua wholeheartedly in your own language for 15 minutes. If tears come, do not hold them back.
  7. At the end, recite the closing surahs and duas, then blow lightly into the water.
  8. Continue every day for at least 40 days. If you miss some days, do not lose heart — simply start again.

Daily schedule

MorningAfter Fajr — verse recitation, 15 minutes
EveningAfter Maghrib — verse recitation, 15 minutes
NightBefore sleeping — closing surahs and duas, drink recited-over water
WeeklyOne ruqyah bath a week

Your own dua in your own language (15 minutes)

During or after the recitation of the verses, ask Allah in your own language. Below is a sample — you do not have to read exactly this; say it in your own words.
O Allah, my heart has become hard. I can feel myself that it is not as it used to be. Soften my heart for me and bring back into it the fear of You. Make salah the coolness of my eyes, and make the Qur'an the spring of my heart. Do not let me die in this state.

Where to massage the recited-over oil

Focus for Laziness and Reluctance in Worship: The crown of the head and the chest

Supplements and weekly practices

Recited-over waterRecite the ruqyah verses over a bottle of water and blow into it. Drink it 3 times a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, at midday, and at night before sleeping.
Recited-over honeyBlow into pure honey and take one spoonful every morning. It is good to recite verse 69 of Surah An-Nahl and then blow into it.
Recited-over olive oilRecite the verses over olive oil, blow into it, and massage it into the affected area. It is best done at night before sleeping.
