Ruqyah Protocol
Magic Knots in the Eyes and the Pupils
Ruqyah for Sihr (magic) That Obstructs the Eyes and Vision
✦ ✦ ✦
Raqi Faisal Ahmed Sabit
Al Quranic Ruqyah Healing Center
Introduction — who this protocol is for
The eye is one of Allah's greatest blessings -- He Himself has said that He gave human beings two eyes. So if any problem appears in the eyes, the first step is to see an eye specialist, because most vision problems have ordinary physical causes. However, if no cause is found in the medical examination, yet eye strain, blurred vision or discomfort remains for a long time, and there are also other signs of sihr, ruqyah may be performed. This protocol is arranged around the verses for undoing the magic knots tied in the eyes and pupils, and the duas for the protection of eyesight.
Signs for which this protocol may help
- Vision feeling blurred or unsteady for no reason even after an eye check-up
- A feeling of pressure or heaviness in the eyes, or as if something is stuck in them
- Eyes watering, burning or trembling while listening to ruqyah
- Feeling discomfort or unexplained fear when looking at your own eyes in the mirror
- Seeing in a dream a needle being pricked into the eyes, or a black cloth or something being tied
- Suddenly feeling an eye problem after looking at a particular person or place
- Being unable to tolerate light in the eyes, or suddenly seeing blurry, with no explanation in the medical reports
Important note: Most of the signs above can also have ordinary physical or psychological causes. So first get the necessary medical tests and treatment. Ruqyah runs alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Do not conclude with certainty that someone is affected by sihr or jinn just because a sign matches.

I begin in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on the earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Verses for Breaking Magic on the Eyes and Vision
He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic.
Recite: 7 times
Intention: It is narrated that the magicians bound people's eyes -- a plea for the undoing of this kind of binding placed on the eyes
With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?"
Recite: 7 times
Intention: The subject of falling under the influence of magic even while seeing and hearing -- a dua to keep the eyesight free from the influence of magic

Recite: 7 times
Intention: The incident of the false claim to sight (the trial of the Samiri) -- protection from deception that creates illusions of sight

Surah Al-Jaathiya 45:23
Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allāh has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allāh? Then will you not be reminded?
Recite: 7 times
Intention: A description of the veil placed over the eyes and heart -- to be recited as a plea to lift the veil placed by the influence of magic (not as a description of your own condition)

And he turned away from them and said, "Oh, my sorrow over Joseph," and his eyes became white from grief, for he was [of that] a suppressor. They said, "By Allāh, you will not cease remembering Joseph until you become fatally ill or become of those who perish." He said, "I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allāh, and I know from Allāh that which you do not know. O my sons, go and find out about Joseph and his brother and despair not of relief from Allāh. Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allāh except the disbelieving people." So when they entered upon him [i.e., Joseph], they said, "O ʿAzeez, adversity has touched us and our family, and we have come with goods poor in quality, but give us full measure and be charitable to us. Indeed, Allāh rewards the charitable." He said, "Do you know what you did with Joseph and his brother when you were ignorant?" They said, "Are you indeed Joseph?" He said, "I am Joseph, and this is my brother. Allāh has certainly favored us. Indeed, he who fears Allāh and is patient, then indeed, Allāh does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good." They said, "By Allāh, certainly has Allāh preferred you over us, and indeed, we have been sinners." He said, "No blame will there be upon you today. May Allāh forgive you; and He is the most merciful of the merciful. Take this, my shirt, and cast it over the face of my father; he will become seeing. And bring me your family, all together." And when the caravan departed [from Egypt], their father said, "Indeed, I find the smell of Joseph [and would say that he was alive] if you did not think me weakened in mind." They said, "By Allāh, indeed you are in your [same] old error." And when the bearer of good tidings arrived, he cast it over his face, and he returned [once again] seeing. He said, "Did I not tell you that I know from Allāh that which you do not know?"

📌 Self-ruqyah guideline
Consistency is the key. A little every day, but regularly.
Method — step by step
- Make wudu, then sit somewhere quiet facing the qiblah. Keep your phone away.
- Make the intention: I am asking Allah for healing through the Words of Allah; the Words have no power of their own — the power belongs to Allah.
- Recite the opening duas (Chapter 1).
- Then recite the verses (ayahs) in order. While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and pass your hands over the affected area.
- Recite each verse as many times as stated in the instruction box below it — there is no need to do more or less.
- In between, make dua wholeheartedly in your own language for 15 minutes. If tears come, do not hold them back.
- At the end, recite the closing surahs and duas, then blow lightly into the water.
- Continue every day for at least 40 days. If you miss some days, do not lose heart — simply start again.
Daily schedule
| Morning | After Fajr — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Evening | After Maghrib — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Night | Before sleeping — closing surahs and duas, drink recited-over water |
| Weekly | One ruqyah bath a week |
Your own dua in your own language (15 minutes)
During or after the recitation of the verses, ask Allah in your own language. Below is a sample — you do not have to read exactly this; say it in your own words.
O Allah, You created the eyes, and You alone are their Owner and Protector. If anyone has tied any binding on my eyes or the pupils of my eyes, undo it by Your power. Keep my sight healthy, sharp and safe, and let me see only the path of good with it. You have placed shifa within Your words -- accept this plea of mine.
Where to massage the recited-over oil
Focus for Magic Knots in the Eyes and the Pupils: The forehead and the area around the eyes (without applying directly to the eyes)
Supplements and weekly practices
| Recited-over water | Recite the ruqyah verses over a bottle of water and blow into it. Drink it 3 times a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, at midday, and at night before sleeping. |
| Recited-over honey | Blow into pure honey and take one spoonful every morning. It is good to recite verse 69 of Surah An-Nahl and then blow into it. |
| Recited-over olive oil | Recite the verses over olive oil, blow into it, and massage it into the affected area. It is best done at night before sleeping. |
| Black seed (nigella) | Every morning, take 7 black seeds with recited-over honey. The Prophet ﷺ said that black seed contains a cure for every disease except death. (Bukhari 5688) |
| Ruqyah bath | Recite the verses over a bucket of water and blow into it. You may also mix in seven crushed jujube leaves. Pour the water over yourself from the head down and bathe, once a week. |
| Spraying the home | Put recited-over water in a spray bottle and spray it in the corners of the house, on the doors and windows, and under the bed. |
Daily practices (amal)
Alongside ruqyah, it is these practices that give long-term protection.
| After Fajr | Surah Yasin 1 time |
| Morning and evening | The morning and evening adhkar from Hisnul Muslim, regularly |
| After Asr | Surah Al-Waqi'ah 1 time |
| At night | Surah Qaf 3 times, Surah Al-Mulk 1 time |
| Before sleeping | Ayat al-Kursi 1 time, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, and the three Quls 3 times each. Blow into your hands and wipe them over your whole body. |
| Every day | Give sadaqah as much as you can, every day, even if only a little. Sadaqah wards off calamity. |
| Every day | The obligatory salah in congregation, istighfar 100 times, salawat upon the Prophet 100 times |
Ruqyah is a Shariah-based method of treatment; it is not a substitute for necessary medical treatment.
