Ruqyah Protocol
General Ruqyah for the Home and Children
A Daily Collection of Verses for the Whole Family
✦ ✦ ✦
Raqi Faisal Ahmed Sabit
Al Quranic Ruqyah Healing Center
Introduction — who this protocol is for
This collection is not for any specific problem — it is arranged as a regular amal for the home. It begins with Surah Al-Fatihah, the beginning and the end of Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat al-Kursi, and the first verses of As-Saffat, and ends with the three Quls. It is short, can be recited every day, and is also suitable for letting children hear.
Signs for which this protocol may help
- If you want to keep a regular practice of protection in the home — whether or not there is a problem
- The child startles in their sleep, cries for no reason, or becomes frightened
- You feel uneasy in the house after moving into a new home
- Many outside people come and go, and there is a fear of the evil eye
- You want to start ruqyah but do not know where to begin
Important note: Most of the signs above can also have ordinary physical or psychological causes. So first get the necessary medical tests and treatment. Ruqyah runs alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Do not conclude with certainty that someone is affected by sihr or jinn just because a sign matches.
Translation of the meanings of the Qur'an: Saheeh International (via quran.com).
Opening duas
Make wudu and sit facing the qiblah. Make the intention: through the Word of Allah, I am asking Allah alone for healing.
I begin in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on the earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Recite: 3 times
Nothing can cause sudden harm to the one who recites this dua in the morning and evening. (Tirmidhi 3388)
In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Meaning: Surah Al-Faatiha 1:1, Saheeh International.
Recite: 19 times
Before starting the ruqyah, settle your focus and your intention, then recite.
I seek refuge in the perfect Words of Allah from the evil of all that He has created.

The Verses
The number of recitations given beside each verse is this collection's own arrangement. If you cannot keep track of the numbers, there is no harm — reciting attentively is what matters most.
In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. [All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord of the worlds - The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. It is You we worship and You we ask for help. Guide us to the straight path - The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

Alif, Lām, Meem. This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allāh - Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.

Surah Al-Baqara 2:102-103
And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Hārūt and Mārūt. But they [i.e., the two angels] do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allāh. And they [i.e., people] learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But they [i.e., the Children of Israel] certainly knew that whoever purchased it [i.e., magic] would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew. And if they had believed and feared Allāh, then the reward from Allāh would have been [far] better, if they only knew.

Surah Al-Baqara 2:163-165
And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allāh has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and earth are signs for a people who use reason. And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allāh as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allāh. But those who believe are stronger in love for Allāh. And if only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment, [they will be certain] that all power belongs to Allāh and that Allāh is severe in punishment.

Surah Al-Baqara 2:284-286

To Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Whether you show what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allāh will bring you to account for it. Then He will forgive whom He wills and punish whom He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent. The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allāh and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination." Allāh does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."

By those [angels] lined up in rows And those who drive [the clouds] And those who recite the message, Indeed, your God is One, Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars And as protection against every rebellious devil [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness].

Surah Al-Muminoon 23:115-118
Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?" So exalted is Allāh, the Sovereign, the Truth; there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne. And whoever invokes besides Allāh another deity for which he has no proof - then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed. And, [O Muḥammad], say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful."

Surah Al-A'raaf 7:117-122
And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. And they [i.e., Pharaoh and his people] were overcome right there and became debased. And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allāh]. They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds, The Lord of Moses and Aaron."

And Pharaoh said, "Bring to me every learned magician." So when the magicians came, Moses said to them, "Throw down whatever you will throw." And when they had thrown, Moses said, "What you have brought is [only] magic. Indeed, Allāh will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allāh does not amend the work of corrupters. And Allāh will establish the truth by His words, even if the criminals dislike it."

Surah Taa-Haa 20:65-69
They said, "O Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw." He said, "Rather, you throw." And suddenly their ropes and staffs seemed to him from their magic that they were moving [like snakes]. And he sensed within himself apprehension, did Moses. We [i.e., Allāh] said, "Fear not. Indeed, it is you who are superior. And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is."

These are two adversaries who have disputed over their Lord. But those who disbelieved will have cut out for them garments of fire. Poured upon their heads will be scalding water By which is melted that within their bellies and [their] skins. And for [striking] them are maces of iron. Every time they want to get out of it [i.e., Hellfire] from anguish, they will be returned to it, and [it will be said], "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire!"

If We had sent down this Qur’ān upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and splitting from fear of Allāh. And these examples We present to the people that perhaps they will give thought. He is Allāh, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. He is Allāh, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Grantor of Security, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him. He is Allāh, the Creator, the Producer, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son And that our foolish one [i.e., Iblees] has been saying about Allāh an excessive transgression. And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allāh a lie.

When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake And the earth discharges its burdens And man says, "What is [wrong] with it?" - That Day, it will report its news Because your Lord has inspired [i.e., commanded] it. That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds. The Prophet ﷺ used to recite this dua over Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them). (Bukhari 3371)
In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah over you, from everything that harms you, from the evil of every soul and of the envier's eye. May Allah heal you. In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah over you.

Jibril (peace be upon him) performed ruqyah over the Prophet ﷺ in this way. (Muslim 2186)
O Allah, Lord of mankind! Remove the hardship and grant healing. You are the Healer; there is no healing except Your healing — a healing that leaves no illness behind.

📌 Self-ruqyah guideline
Consistency is the key. A little every day, but regularly.
Method — step by step
- Make wudu, then sit somewhere quiet facing the qiblah. Keep your phone away.
- Make the intention: I am asking Allah for healing through the Words of Allah; the Words have no power of their own — the power belongs to Allah.
- Recite the opening duas (Chapter 1).
- Then recite the verses (ayahs) in order. While reciting, blow lightly into both palms and pass your hands over the affected area.
- Recite each verse as many times as stated in the instruction box below it — there is no need to do more or less.
- In between, make dua wholeheartedly in your own language for 15 minutes. If tears come, do not hold them back.
- At the end, recite the closing surahs and duas, then blow lightly into the water.
- Continue every day for at least 40 days. If you miss some days, do not lose heart — simply start again.
Daily schedule
| Morning | After Fajr — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Evening | After Maghrib — verse recitation, 15 minutes |
| Night | Before sleeping — closing surahs and duas, drink recited-over water |
| Weekly | One ruqyah bath a week |
Your own dua in your own language (15 minutes)
During or after the recitation of the verses, ask Allah in your own language. Below is a sample — you do not have to read exactly this; say it in your own words.
O Allah, protect my home. Make the walls, the doors, and every corner of this house safe in Your name. Keep my children and every member of my family in Your refuge. For the eye that has looked at us with envy, remove the harm of that eye. Grant barakah and peace in our home.
Where to massage the recited-over oil
Focus for General Ruqyah for the Home and Children: The crown and back of the child's head; for adults, the chest and the palms of both hands
Supplements and weekly practices
| Recited-over water | Recite the ruqyah verses over a bottle of water and blow into it. Drink it 3 times a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, at midday, and at night before sleeping. |
| Recited-over honey | Blow into pure honey and take one spoonful every morning. It is good to recite verse 69 of Surah An-Nahl and then blow into it. |
| Recited-over olive oil | Recite the verses over olive oil, blow into it, and massage it into the affected area. It is best done at night before sleeping. |
| Black seed (nigella) | Every morning, take 7 black seeds with recited-over honey. The Prophet ﷺ said that black seed contains a cure for every disease except death. (Bukhari 5688) |
| Ruqyah bath | Recite the verses over a bucket of water and blow into it. You may also mix in seven crushed jujube leaves. Pour the water over yourself from the head down and bathe, once a week. |
| Spraying the home | Put recited-over water in a spray bottle and spray it in the corners of the house, on the doors and windows, and under the bed. |
Daily practices (amal)
Alongside ruqyah, it is these practices that give long-term protection.
| After Fajr | Surah Yasin 1 time |
| Morning and evening | The morning and evening adhkar from Hisnul Muslim, regularly |
| After Asr | Surah Al-Waqi'ah 1 time |
| At night | Surah Qaf 3 times, Surah Al-Mulk 1 time |
| Before sleeping | Ayat al-Kursi 1 time, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, and the three Quls 3 times each. Blow into your hands and wipe them over your whole body. |
| Every day | Give sadaqah as much as you can, every day, even if only a little. Sadaqah wards off calamity. |
| Every day | The obligatory salah in congregation, istighfar 100 times, salawat upon the Prophet 100 times |
Ruqyah is a Shariah-based method of treatment; it is not a substitute for necessary medical treatment.
